Looking at the sun can lead to macular
degeneration (an irreversible form of blindness)
Ultraviolet resistant sunglasses are as important
as sunscreen. Even when driving in a car.
Magnifying glasses can help people with this
condition. Call Low Vision Resources for help!
Skin cancer
Some skin cancers (eg basal cell) can
be treated topically, while others (eg. melanoma) require chemotherapy
Both can be triggered by exposure to ultraviolet rays, which
are becoming stronger with ozone disintegration.
Best tip yet? Don’t sizzle in the sun.
(Stop smoking!) Stay well hydrated to protect your skin.
Stay indoors when the sun is hot. Wear sun
screen, long sleeves and a neck shading hat when you can’t.
Skin cancers can surface many years after a
prolonged exposure.
